Christmas 2022 Newsletter
As we enter the festive season, our Christmas menu is now live, we do hope you will join us for your Christmas parties and celebrations.
This year we will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. We shall open all day on New Year’s Eve and open for a long lunch on New Year’s Day. We shall offer our Christmas party menu alongside our normal a la carte menu.
We are now offering private events in the comfort of your own home. Choose a delicious menu and we’ll do the rest. This can be Christmas Day, a special occasion, celebration, or family get-together. Call us for further information.
Our Christmas shop will now open. Our Gift vouchers are always a nice Christmas present. We will also offer Mince Pies, Chocolates and Christmas Puddings.
Look out for our annual program of events and Guest Chef dinners. Dates for these events and more can be found on our website and on this newsletter.
The kitchen will continue to follow the seasons and offer delicious dishes for you to enjoy. Our daily specials are always popular, as well as our quick and easy bar snacks.
In January we will continue to offer our Lunch Menu. A two-course menu for £20.00 or three course menus for £24.00. This menu will change weekly and offer a great value lunch for you to enjoy.
Once again, the team are buzzing, and we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We look forward to cooking up a storm and creating some wonderful new dishes for you all to enjoy.

FROM THE BAR
Ingredients:
4 Litres Sheppy’s Cider
6 cloves
3-4 star anise
5 juniper berries
¼ nutmeg, finely grated into the pan
1 cinnamon stick
1 vanilla pod, halved
150g ginger
1 orange, juiced and rind
2 clementine, juiced and rind
1 lemon juiced and rind
4-5 tablespoons caster sugar
Method:
- Pour the cider into a large pan on a low heat and let it warm through for a few minutes.
- Add all the spices and juices and turn the heat up.
- Once almost boiling, turn down to a simmer, leave to tick away for 5–8 minutes.
- Add sugar to taste. You don’t want it too sweet.
- Once infused ladle into glasses or mugs and serve warm.
Note: The mulled cider can be reheated once after first infusion.

A Box of Christmas Mince Pies
A BOX OF 8 – SERVES 4 : £ 6.50
Our mince pies are sweet and filled with a mixture of dried fruits and spices, they are made with delicious mincemeat and finished with a hazelnut & almond crumble topping. The perfect festive season treat.
A Box of Beehive Chocolates
A BOX OF 6 – SERVES 2 : £ 6.50
Our handmade Chocolates are perfect for an after-dinner treat. Filled with soft salted caramel, they will always put a smile on your face.
Christmas Pudding
Small CHRISTMAS PUDDING – SERVES 4 : £10.00
Zesty orange and lemons meet dried fruits, flaked almonds, and winter spices – then get drenched in French Brandy and Guinness Stout, before being matured for six months. Its light texture makes it incredibly moreish. All you must do is lightly steam – and serve with brandy butter, cream or ice cream.

Wednesday 25th January 2023
A great welcome to Pipe Major from Eton College. We will ‘address the haggis’ & enjoy a delicious dinner. Join us for a wonderful celebration of Robbie Burns with our classic menu including haggis, bagpipes and a wee dram.
£55 p/person: Canapes and four-courses all-in, including the wee dram.

Treat your loved one to a wonderful lunch or dinner with our award-winning menu. Booking essential. A delicious a al carte menu will be available for lunch and a Set Price a la carte menu will be offered for dinner.
