Winter Newsletter 2020
A very Happy New Year from us all at The Beehive.
After another interesting year in Britain and White Waltham, we look forward to welcoming in 2020. We achieved some wonderful accolades in 2019 - Top 10 Gastro Pubs in the UK, 6/10 in the Good Food Guide and Michelin guide recognition. We are thrilled with these achievements and thankful for your support. In our 6th year at The Beehive, we have some wonderful events booked for you to enjoy with us during 2020.
On Thursday 16th January, we kick things off with a winter Quiz night. We challenge you to a quiz. Prizes to be won by the winning team and brightest sparks.
Our annual Burns Night celebration returns on 23rd January and we are delighted to welcome Pipe Major Lucas Fraser-Taliente, from Eton College, to play the bagpipes. Join us for a wonderful celebration of Robbie Burns life and works. We will ‘address the haggis’ and enjoy our classic menu, including Smoked Haddock Soup, Haggis, Cranachan and a wee dram.
We are very excited to welcome Alastair Little to our kitchen on 27th January. A masterclass from a modern British cooking pioneer, Alastair’s cookery has been a major catalyst in the evolution of British cuisine. This masterclass will also be an introduction and launch to a new Beehive at Home menu. You will have an opportunity to have these dishes and more delivered to your door.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Treat your loved one to lunch or dinner with us. We will offer our à la carte menu for lunch and a set price menu with a choice of delicious dishes for dinner.
Mother’s Day and Easter Sunday are also fast approaching; again we are offering our full à la carte menu on both of these special days.
We do hope you will join us at The Beehive for some (if not all!) of our events. Please book early for these busy days to avoid disappointment.
January brings back our delicious lunch menu and a fresh offering. We will continue to run our great value Classics Lunch Menu, 2 courses at £19.95 or 3 courses at £24.95. This menu will change daily and offer some wonderful salads, soups, pasta and vegetarian dishes for a quick and easy lunch.
We will also offer our new bar menu, filled with snacks, sandwiches and soups as a no fuss bite with a pint, glass of wine or quick and easy lunch. Tuesdays are 'Steak and Date Night' - great value steaks with a FREE drink when you buy one steak or a FREE bottle of house wine when you buy two.
During December, we offered a selection of gifts and prepared food products for sale in our ‘Beehive Shop’; this has been a great success and we will continue to sell local honey, and bees wax candles as well as various other hand-made interesting and delicious items.
All the information on our items for sale and other events can be found on our website.
Thank you for your continued support; we all look forward to seeing you and looking after you in 2020.

WINE OF THE MONTH
Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc
Imagine yellow-fleshed peaches, rock melon and blackcurrant – a sponge cake with lemon icing, chamomile and hints of rose petal. This is a delicately perfumed and deliciously ripe-fruited interpretation of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The palate is both subtle and textural, showing considerable ripeness and concentration, with a crisp and long, juicy finish.
A beautifully made delicious glass of wine that will stop you from any crazy thoughts like Dry January! Also amazing with sea bass, Cornish crab or a tasty salad.
